It is the first Tiger captured by British and American troops intact.

It was brought by the Germans to Tunisia between 22 March and 16 April 1943 and introduced to fight the 48th Royal Tank Regiment near Medjez-el-Bab on 21 April 1943.

It destroyed two Churchill, but a six-pound gun shot damaged the turret and wounded the commander.

The crew had to leave the tank to save their lives. Damage is still visible in the yoke and face plates.
